Fort Bend Residential Non Profit Homes

Boys & Girls Harbor is one of the most well-established Fort Bend residential children’s homes. Our center was opened in 1947 and has experienced much growth over the last 70 years. We started a volunteer program in 1998 to better support our organization, especially facing the financial limitations of nonprofits. Today, our center can support up to 88 children in need of a safe, loving home environment and 24-hour care.

What is the Role of Our Non Profit Children’s Homes in Fort Bend TX?

Our non profit children’s center has a simple but great mission: to support children in need. Many of the children who stay at the Harbor have known nothing but abuse and neglect. Our Fort Bend residential children’s homes are their first opportunity for a normalized life that includes regular schooling, extracurricular activities, nutritious food, healthcare and counseling.

What makes the Harbor different from other non profit children’s homes in Fort Bend TX is that we provide a family environment. Children stay in live-in homes with two live-in parents. This offers them stability so that they can focus on getting what they need, whether it’s health care, counseling or bonding in their relationships.

How Long Do Children Stay at the Harbor?

There are no limits at our Fort Bend non profit children’s homes. We are happy to provide services as long as they are needed. Children may come to us from the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services or voluntarily by their families. We hope that when the situation at home is improved or resolved, our children can be placed with their families again. But there are some instances where children are better off at our residential children’s homes in Fort Bend TX.

Since the Harbor is truly home to some children, it is imperative that we hold our standards high and continue to provide loving, supportive and life-changing services. To learn more about supporting our Fort Bend residential children’s homes, call the Harbor today.
