  • “Charities on the Green”

    Spindletop International celebrated its 50th Annual Oilmen’s Golf Tournament on the Oaks & Panther Trail Golf Club hosted at The Woodlands Resort & Conference Center May 1st and 2nd.Spindletop Charities, Inc. is committed to being a leader in charitable giving on behalf of the oil and gas industry. Since 1966, Spindletop has contributed over $18 million to aid programs such as child abuse prevention, pediatric medical research, drug and alcohol abuse prevention, education and scholarships, residential and treatment centers, and after-school programming. Spindletop selected 16 Houston area youth charities to participate in the “Charities on the Green” game. Each organization is assigned to a Par 3 hole to greet golfers and briefly tell them about their charity. Each golfer is able to raise additional funds for the charity by landing his tee-shot on the green.Boys & Girls Harbor has been a beneficiary from “Charities on the Green” at Spindletop Golf Tournament for the past 5 years. The funding received from the golf tournaments each year has helped to continue quality residential care the Harbor provides for at-risk children in our community.
