Hope For A Dream
Through Ashley Furniture’s ‘A Hope to Dream’ campaign, they have donated 24 beds, mattresses, and comforters to the Harbor. Ashley Furniture has also donated two barbecue grills, furniture for the family rooms, clothing, food, cleaning supplies, and toys.
Ashley Furniture’s C.E.O., Gary Seals, has encouraged his associates to give back to the community and focus on children’s needs. An alumnus from the Harbor, Joshua Hill, is a manager-in-training at the Ashely Furniture Spring location.
Mike Gomez, Store Manager of the Spring location, led the volunteers at the cook out event. Mike has worked for Ashley for nine years and this was his fourth time as a volunteer at the Harbor.
“The Harbor is an organization of people of all abilities and backgrounds, and it’s obvious they are making a positive change in children’s lives.” Gomez said. “My first time at the Harbor was one of my favorite events and a defining moment in my life. I am no longer self-centered, but rather am focused on making a difference to my fellow mankind.”
Boys & Girls Harbor is grateful for volunteers like Mike Gomez and for the continued support from Ashley Furniture. In-kind donations from Ashley Furniture, and other companies, enhance the quality of life for the children of the Harbor.
