  • Local Gardening Club Helps Beautify Campus

Saturday, May 16th, the Deer Park Petal Pushers Garden Club came to install fresh flowerbeds in the courtyard on the Boys & Girls Harbor campus. The members of the Petal Pushers mixed colorful yard art in the midst of the vibrant landscaping, and scattered Adirondack chairs for seating around the garden areas and near the playground.

“We had a very good time on Saturday, doing what we do best… gardening,” said Bonnie Landin, Petal Pushers Garden Club member. The Petal Pushers have plans to continue to assist in maintaining the flower beds throughout the year.

The Petal Pushers Garden Club has been active since 1965; their motto is “Growing, Sharing and Showing”. By sharing their time and showing their kindness to the Harbor, the Petal Pushers have helped sustain the Harbor’s program of residential care providing children in crisis with a family-structured residential community.
